Joe’s Hot Take:
Automatic start/stop of engines at a stop light or otherwise used to be a constant complaint of clients when this feature first became available. Initially the feature was one you could turn off BUT you’d have to turn it off again each time you started the car. Now, people are just used to this feature. Annoying? Yes but a great, if small, way to improve vehicle gas mileage, making a car function more like a hybrid engine car.
Many will be happy if this engine start/stop feature goes away but we are hopeful that manufacturers will continue to have it on cars. Every little bit of energy savings counts. (one small note about this article – the photo at the top of the article of the start/stop ignition button has nothing to do with the feature that is discussed in this article – this button is just about turning your car on and off when you have a key fob in your pocket – there is nothing environmental or EPA related to this feature).
